Relationships rise and fall primarily based on what the people in the relationships think. Not just at the moment they’re interacting, although that too is extremely potent, but even what they think and how they think in general.
Real change is a change not in the state of external affairs, but a change of choice in relation to the external world, the presented options. This is how real change occurs. When a person prays for change, what they are really praying for is: one, a chance for a redo; and two, a hope that when presented with the opportunity for a redo, they will choose differently. That’s really what the prayer is for. The universe’s job, since it cannot make the choice, is only to present the opportunities for choice.
It is more important you hold God precious than that you see God, or have God. Because what happens if you have God and you do not hold God precious?
LOVE is the value; love makes enlightenment important, enlightenment does not make love important—love is always already important. And the value of anything can be measured to the extent that it facilitates love, but not the reverse.
The value of all things is whether or not and the extent to which they serve love; otherwise they have no value. That’s the right side up way. That’s the way that is true. And everything that gets in the way of love is valueless and less than valueless.
This is the difference between a coward and a real human being, a mensch: a mensch works through objections, a coward hides behind them. A mensch considers the downsides in order to do the best they can. A coward considers the downsides in order to not to anything at all.
Hope springs eternal within the ego that it can somehow make good, one way or another. But all I’m saying is, it can’t make good any way. One way or another. Spirit, as it resides truly I the heart, can make things good.
Get that down, memorize that, stamp that on your forehead—that will be your salvation.
It comes down to this matter of loyalty and you’re going to serve somebody. “It may be the devil, it may be the lord,” but you ARE going, definitely, to serve somebody.
You will always be a lay-down. You will always be surrendered. You will always be obedient. That much is absolute.
The only thing that is actually an issue is: What you’re going to be surrendered to; what you’re going to be a lay-down for; what you’re going to be obedient to.
That is all that is negotiable. That is all that there’s a choice about. NOT whether or not you’re going to be a lay-down. Not whether or not you’re going to be subservient. Not whether or not you’re going to be obedient. That isn’t an option. You will be all those things.
But…
The choice to be a lay-down, to be obedient and subservient to the persona and to the egoic philosophy that it holds, is the choice to be locked out of your true selfhood and out of fulfillment of every kind.
For people who are concerned about fulfillment of every kind, or even of any kind, that should make them go, “Hmm.” It should get them to see reality better. There IS a surrender, there IS a subservience, there IS an obedience, there IS a jump and “how high?” But whether that’s going to be in relationship to the egoic persona, or whether it’s going to be in relation to your own heart, is the choice.
