Spiritual longing runs very deep in each and every one of us. We all have a hollow leg. We all have a desire and a craving for fulfillment. But the usual man or woman has an unfortunate tendency to convert their spiritual desire into the desire for acquisition of things, people, or relationships.

So the trap is that due to wanting there’s a possibility of acquiring. Due to acquiring, there’s the possibility of being addictive and greedy. In becoming addictive and greedy, there’s a certainty of being an asshole. That’s how it works. And that doesn’t work.
